Nagaland’s service sector is an important growth engine for the state’s economy. The current study looks at the service sector’s role in Nagaland’s economic growth. The paper also investigates the growth and contributions of Nagaland’s services sector to the state’s gross domestic product. According to the study, the services sector has grown at a faster rate than other sectors. Its growth rate is found to be faster than the growth rate of the overall GDP. The growing importance of this sector in GDP more than compensates for the poor performance of the primary sector. In terms of GDP contribution, trade is the most important service sub-sector in Nagaland. The primary sector still employs a large portion of the Nagaland population, with the service sector, which includes trade, hotels, restaurants, and community, social, and personal services, being the next largest employer.
