Holistic national development goes beyond economic growth, incorporating social well-being and socioeconomic progress. Women entrepreneurs play a crucial role in India’s socio-economic landscape, driving economic growth, social empowerment, and gender equality. This research evaluates the impact of Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) on economic empowerment, gender disparity, financial inclusion, and societal challenges. PMMY provides collateral-free loans with lower interest rates, empowering women entrepreneurs. Drawing on secondary data from various sources, a causal loop diagram visualizes connections in the scheme, and an ABCD analysis highlights advantages, constraints, and disadvantages faced by women. In FY 2021-22, women borrowers made up 71% of accounts, receiving 49% of the total sanctioned amount. The Mudra Atmanirbhar Quotient (MAQ) for women rose from 0.82 in FY16 to 2.28 in FY22, indicating improved fund utilization and repayment capacity. This research reveals micro-credit from PMMY as a catalyst for female entrepreneurship, leading to increased earnings, employability, and empowerment.
