The present study aims to develop and validate the reflectively measured multi-dimensional effectuation and causation decision-making logics scale. In the first phase, pilot testing was conducted with 210 respondents and in the second phase the main study included 530 respondents from the retail and manufacturing sector of Northern India. Results suggest that the reflective measurement items exhibit indicator reliability, construct reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. Practically this study can help potential entrepreneurs to take leverage upon contingencies and co-create their ventures with expert entrepreneurs and enhance sustainability by comparing the decision of novice and expert entrepreneurs. The newly developed scale is a comprehensive measure of effectuation and causation decision-making logic validated in the Indian context based on boundary conditions. Thus, this study is novel in terms of an improvement over previous scales.
