This study investigates the social and economic impacts of farmer-producer organizations (FPOs) in addressing agricultural challenges by collectivizing small and marginal farmers into cohesive producer groups. Focusing on the Cauvery Delta Region (CDR) in Tamil Nadu, specifically Thiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts, the research aims to discern the effectiveness of FPOs in improving market access, technology adoption, input availability, and investment opportunities. Primary data was collected through personal interviews with 368 producer-members from the aforementioned districts during the period of 2022-2023. The findings of the study provide robust evidence of the positive and statistically significant changes in both social and economic statuses of FPO members. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on agricultural development strategies and offers insights into the transformative potential of FPOs in enhancing the livelihoods of farmers.
