The 21st -century pivotal geopolitical incident, the Russia- Ukraine conflict, has massively impacted global trade and derailed efforts to realise the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The brief identifies the consequences of the Russia- Ukraine war on widespread global economic growth and sustainable development goals. The effort draws on evidence from grey literature and secondary data sources to examine the historical background of the conflict, the main areas and objects affected by the crisis, and the broader implications for sustainable development. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative data analysis with qualitative research conducted with policymakers, business experts, and development practitioners to provide a holistic insight. The findings show global trade worldwide, particularly in the food supply chain, and its impact on economic stability across the globe. This paper highlights the critical necessity for nations to collaborate to mitigate these conflicts’ adverse effects on attaining the Sustainable Development Goals.
