Purpose: The present study is an attempt to examine the emerging issues and challenges in IT education and employment in India. Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodological approach of this research study is descriptive and the data is obtained from various secondary data sources in thematic form. Findings: It appears that enough job opportunities will not be created even to take care of the additions to labour force of the order of 35.29 million resulting into requirement of 5.62 million employment opportunities. This means that total number of unemployment will reach the figure of 40.47 million. Research Limitations: The main limitation for this study is that it was based on secondary data. Replicating the research approach with primary data would result in obtaining a better conclusion. Managerial Implications: It means that in near future the use of IT for students would imply no more mindless cramming. Interactive content would be available on the net. For managers and administrators, the use of IT in education would lead to networking and savings of time and quick decisions and prompt feedback to its stakeholders. Originality/Value: This study showcased the original work of the authors in the field of IT Education and Employment in India.
